Each hospital is part of a community: Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare at NCC 2022

Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare (MLH) is one of the largest employers in one of the poorest cities in the country. Michael Ugwueke, President and CEO at MLH, saw the connection between addressing employee engagement at MLH and addressing poverty in the larger Memphis community.

In 2019, MLH partnered with the University of Memphis to provide all MLH associates with the opportunity to flexibly and affordably earn higher education degrees and certificates to further their career. This has helped more Memphians escape the cycle of poverty.
